    Twitter Updates

As anyone can tell, I am about as good at blogging as an Eskimo is at water skiing. Since it is not my forte to write blog posts, I've found the lazy person's blogging mechanism. It is called Twitter. Twitter is where you write a post that is under 140 total characters. If you forget to post that day, the website sends you an e-mail. This is so perfect for me!

Let me know what you think about the Twitter updates.

Where a Kid Can Be a Kid - Part 2

Alright children, here is how Chuck E. Cheese and Jesus are alike.

Chuck E. Cheese brings a lot of joy to children whenever they see him. These kids run up to Chuck E. and want to sing and dance because of him.

As Christians, Jesus Christ should be the thing that brings us the most joy in our lives. Jesus should be the treasure of our hearts (Matthew 13.44). Our love for Jesus should cause us to sing, dance, and worship all because of how great He is.

Where a Kid Can Be a Kid

We took the boys to Chuck E. Cheese today. I think I may have had more fun than they did. Although no aspect of the Mr. Cheese's establishment was as good as I remembered: the food, games or singing, it was still pretty sweet.

My darling wife said that there should be some Christian aspect to this post since I am writing for the church. It's hard to relate Jesus with a six-foot tall rat but I sense a challenge. Check back in the next few days for how a dancing rat relates with Jesus.

    A Great Easter

I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I was with the services yesterday. We had over 100 people in our 9:45 service featuring the Choir and almost 140 in Morning Worship. Many of these people were visitors and many seemed as if they really enjoyed worshiping God with us at UBC.

Please be praying for all of these folks as well as our church. I still don't feel that we are anywhere near where we need to be but that we are starting to get on the right track.

There will be some cool things happening in the next few weeks for all of us to begin to see what God desires for His church.

    Ahhh...

Well, Mondays are my day off. So I am sitting here listening to Titus playing with one of his books. Days off are good. I like them. We usually go to Salsaritas for lunch (it's a great modern, Mexican restaurant on Hwy. 54) and then Walmart or Goodwill depending upon what else we have to do. I also try to take some time to spend with God. As a minister Monday's are my Sabbath, or day of rest. It's important to take a break and spend some time with your family and with God. I hope you all will make sure that you make time for those aspects of your life.

For something really random, I will show you all the song/video that I'm loving right now. I am starting to like older music from the '70's. Here's Elton John singing "Tiny Dancer." Please don't make fun of me for this.

    Let the blogging commence...

I know it's been a long break but the blogging is about to start up again. I am going to revamp the site and what I do with it. For the Read the Bible in a Year segment of the blog, Julie is now taking care of that on the church website (www.uticabaptistchurch.org).

Check back this week to see what's going on.

    Oh No!

    Oh no!

Daddy hasn't posted on here in a LONG time!

I'll make sure he gets his act together. I have my ways...
